Restring Your Racket

At Drop Shots we work to match you with both the appropriate racket and strings for your physical needs and style of play:

• The racket determines how a player can swing
• Head size determines sweet spot, forgiveness, power potential (or control)
• Weight & balance determine stability and swing speed
• Stiffness affects energy return and arm comfort

The strings (and their tension) adjust how the ball feels and responds: they influence power, spin, touch, and control.

• Polyester: A single, solid filament that provides great spin and control and is appropriate for big hitters and spin seekers.
• Multifilament: Thousands of microfibers bundled together to create more comfort and power.
• Synthetic gut: Usually nylon with other synthetic materials that aims to replicate natural gut with a crisp feel and good touch, and is affordable for string breakers.
• Natural gut: Made from cow serosa fibers and provides the best comfort, power, and tension hold, but is very pricey.
• Hybrids: Usually a poly in the main and a multifilament in the crosses that offer players a custom feel.
